Blog Post Thirteen: Libra New Moon 2025
On October 21, 2025, at 5:25pm PT, the New Moon blooms at 28 degrees Libra, carrying us to the edge of balance, beauty, and truth. Libra is the sign of harmony, justice, and relationships, but this lunation doesn’t let us glide along the surface. Instead, it pulls us into the deep waters of transformation with an exact square to Pluto in Aquarius, demanding we confront the ways power, control, and truth shape our connections.
This isn’t the kind of New Moon where we simply “set intentions” for better love or smoother partnerships. This is a mirror, tilted at just the right angle to show us both the cracks and the potential. Libra teaches us that peace without truth is only performance. Pluto says: shed the performance, burn through the illusion, and commit to the deeper work.
With Pluto pressuring this lunation, we may feel tensions in relationships, workplaces, or even within ourselves, where the desire for balance collides with the reality of power struggles or hidden truths. Something may feel unfair, out of alignment, or suffocating. This is where Pluto’s medicine enters: the invitation to face discomfort and reshape what’s broken. Transformation always comes with friction, and this New Moon may reveal where a false peace must end so a truer harmony can begin.
And yet, the sky offers us grace. Flowing beneath the intensity is a rare Grand Trine in water:
· Jupiter in Cancer expands faith, heart-centered truth, and the soul’s calling.
· Saturn in Pisces grounds us in spiritual discipline, asking us to hold vision and compassion with responsibility.
· Mercury and Mars in Scorpio sharpen the mind and focus our willpower, giving us courage to pierce illusions.
Together, this water trine feels like a sacred current carrying us through whatever tension Pluto stirs. It’s the emotional intelligence, the resilience of intuition, and the soft power of surrender that balance the harshness of transformation.
What this New Moon Asks of Us:
· To look at our relationships (with others, with ourselves, with the collective) and ask: where is truth missing?
· To notice where we’ve chosen surface-level peace over authentic connection.
· To let our emotional intelligence, intuition, and inner resilience guide us in the face of pressure.
· To plant intentions not just for “harmony”, but for harmony rooted in depth, honesty, and courage.
Ritual Suggestions:
· Mirror Work: Sit with a candle and a mirror. Ask yourself: What truths have I avoided in the name of peace? What power is mine to reclaim? Write down what comes up.
· Water Invocation: Pour water into a bowl, whisper your intentions into it, and place it under the moonlight (even if the moon isn’t visible). In the morning, pour it into the earth as an offering.
· Relationship Reset: Write down one relationship (romantic, plutonic, professional, or even with yourself) where balance feels off. What one act of truth, honesty, or courage can you take to reset the scales?
The Libra New Moon is both a razor’s edge and a balm. The square to Pluto won’t let you bypass the real work, but the Grand Trine in water promises healing if we lean into trust, surrender, and emotional honesty.
Plant your intentions with awareness: what does true balance mean for you now? Not the polished mask, not the easy compromise, but the deeper, soul-centered alignment where beauty and truth finally meet.
With light & love,
